This week saw the loss of Carrie Fisher, the iconic actress who stole our hearts as Leia Organa in the Star Wars franchise. But to me, Carrie was so much more. She was a symbol of strength and feminine power, a reminder that mental illness doesn't have to destroy you. Despite being bipolar, Carrie was a successful mother, actress, writer and advocate for mental health.
I myself have suffered with depression for over 20 years now. Who knows, maybe it is that funky wiring in my brain that makes it possible for me to see the cards the way I do. I do know that there are days when it is still a struggle to get out of bed and motivated. Medication can work wonders, but for me it is important to have outlets, things to occupy my mind, etc... Here are some things YOU can do if you find yourself struggling (even if you aren't mentally ill):
"Be afraid, but do it anyways. what's important is the action. you don't have to wait to be confidant - just do it and confidence will follow"
You can find Carrie's documentary WISHFUL DRINKING on HBO or Amazon Video ( a must watch!) or any of her best-selling books are well worth the read. The best way we can honor this amazing woman is to live life the best we can, even if we end up with a few dents and dings....
I want to show people how to live full empowered lives by helping them find their unique road through life. I use tarot and lenormand as tools to light the way. And I'm gonna share my favorite life hacks and self care tips along the way - because I love making life easier!
