When I first decided to start designing I knew that somewhere in there would be my love for Tudor history. I spent a great deal of time learning the ins and outs of the design software that I needed to use, and looking for printers for the deck once complete. This was my "trial" deck and it ended up being wildly popular.
I wanted to do this right, so instead of the simple little white book that comes with decks these days I also wrote a full guide book to go with. There is 130 pages to the guide, covering how to read lenormand, an overview of each card and some really in depth history of England and the items I chose to represent that period in history. For example, the coffin card is represented by the elaborate resting place of Mary, Queen of Scots. The ship is represented by Henry VIII's warship the Mary Rose. And naturally the man and woman cards feature Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. |
