Mid-Year Check In

Can you believe that it is JULY already? I swear this year is going on entirely too fast. I thought that this would be a great time to just do a mid year check in and talk about what has been going on and what is coming up for the rest of the year.

Probably the most impactful on the business this year has been my health. I suffer from auto-immune issues on a good day, so when it came time to get life back to normal that meant getting vaccinated for COVID. This is something that I was really concerned about because in addition to having some allergies to normal vaccine components I also have a fear of things being rushed through the FDA. I'd talk more about that if it weren't for the fact that terms of the settlement mean that I can't.

So I went in to get vaccinated. They then made me sit there for about a half hour in front of a group of EMTs to make sure that I didn't have an allergic reaction to the shot. But here is where the fun really started. Within 24 hours of vaccination I began to feel like I had a case of the flu. I was completely wiped out, exhausted and just feeling pretty blah. Here it is almost a month and a half later and I still am not feeling right. And when I say not feeling right I mean serious enough that I have had multiple blood tests, doctors visits and referrals to specialists. So that has been really hard for me to deal with because I just have ZERO energy. Hopefully I can get some answers over the next several weeks.

Second is probably the thing that I am the MOST excited about - and that is that business has been so good for me over the last year (which with the pandemic has been such a blessing) that I am rapidly outgrowing my space for my business. Not a bad problem to have honestly.  So I started looking at different options. I thought about renting a retail space, but at the end of the day there just wasn't anything affordable that fit my requirements. So I am looking at purchasing a place, and I am dying to show you guys. Right now it is still not a done deal so I don't want to jinx it - but I will totally share pictures as soon as I sign papers. But I will have plenty of room to carry more stock, especially of my self published decks.  This means that instead of having to pay higher prices and it taking up to three weeks to get decks to me and then shipped back out that I can have them out the door the same day. It has also made it so that I can offer bundles and extras (like this Old Gods Lenormand with art print of the Red Viper snake card)

I am also really excited to announce that I have totally revamped the Delphi Oracle deck. I'd love to say that I came up with it all on my own, but really it came from a customer's feedback with a healthy dash of a bipolar manic episode. I think I was up for about three days straight working on it. The results are a newly expanded deck with a 134 page full-color guide book that is wire bound so that it can lay flat while you work.
