The Enchanted Lenormand is an incredible creation by Caitlin Matthews and Virginia Lee. Keep reading for my impressions on this deck. Typically in lenormand you have 36 cards. In this set there are 39 as they have added extra man and woman cards. In addition there is a 160 page companion book, a sheet that folds out for the Big Picture Spread, and the box. For me this box is really a work of art in and of itself with a lift lid. This set is everything that you need to get started learning lenormand, or for adding to your collection. This deck is really just absolutely lovely. Each image is hand painted and designed to look like a crystal ball that is surrounded by wood and foliage. Each of the classic lenormand issues are contained inside that crystal ball, giving the whole thing an almost three dimensional feel to it. Each of the cards also contains a small playing card insert for those that really want to dig into the numerology of the cards. The cards are pretty small and glossy. For me personally I felt like they needed a little more oomph so I edged the cards with gold gilt. It is this tweak that for me just pushed them over the edge of awesomeness. The cards are really sturdy which is a plus for me, because I can tuck these in my backpack or purse and take them with me. It also works well that they are so small because I have little hands so they are really easy to shuffle! For those that are new to the system the 160 page companion book is really fantastic. Caitlin Matthews covers an introduction to the system, a little history, how to ask good questions and more. Each card of the deck also gets two pages where you are given a general meaning of the card as well as keywords, meanings for love, health, work and more as well as my favorite part: Card combinations! This is something that sometimes gets left out of guide books so I was happy to see it included here. Also, unlike a lot of guidebooks out there, this one is in COLOR! Which really helps when looking at a card to pick out details that would otherwise maybe get lost in black and white. Aside from the decks that I have personally created this deck is my go to deck when reading for clients. It has a really wonderful look and feel to it that connects really well with those I do readings for. It is so popular with the community that first editions of the deck can go for up to $900! Thankfully the deck was re-released earlier this year making it affordable again. Grab your own copy by clicking the link below.
