SPOTLIGHT: Tudor Lenormand

​Zia Fox Studios (previously Tiamat Designs) was started in 2015. Here is the lenormand deck that started it all! 

Tudor England has always been a fascination of mine.  I am fairly certain that at some point in the past I was in England and that resonates with me still to this day. Then add to that that through DNA and our family trees, my husband is actually descended from some of the people who were history makers in England. From the first Earl of Warwick through to the Kingmaker there is a lot of history there. So when I decided that I wanted to make a Lenormand deck it was simple enough to come up with a theme.

​I'll explore the actual creation of a deck in a later blog post. This deck is always going to be my baby, my first-born. This 36 card deck is self published, and features really key people and places in England between the 1400s and the 1600s. The one notable variation from a traditional deck is that instead of the Scythe I have replaced it with the Axe - highlighting the axe that sits in the Tower of London and was used for executions.

​This deck is printed on demand, and ships directly from the printer. It does not currently have a LWB (which I am working to fix - it was my first deck and I might have not been as good at details like that then) however, there is a full companion book available as a wire bound paperback and as an e-book. Its around 150-160 pages, and in addition to talking about the cards and lenormand itself, there is also a huge section on Tudor historical facts and places represented.
